Job summary

Scion Staffing is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant (AI Trainer) for a fully remote 12-week project in the United States. The role involves applying real-world accounting expertise to evaluate AI-generated work and provide feedback for training and improvement of AI outputs.

Responsibilities include identifying errors, explaining correct accounting treatments, and developing realistic tasks across GAAP/IFRS, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Current or recent hands-on professional experience in Accounting or a closely related field.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
• Ability to clearly explain accounting concepts, identify errors, and articulate appropriate treatments.
• Strong written communication, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Technical Accountant, SEC/Financial Reporting professional, Auditor, Tax professional, or similar accounting professional.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated accounting work for technical accuracy, consistency, and appropriate application of accounting principles.
• Identify technical accounting and financial reporting errors and explain why an accounting treatment is correct or incorrect.
• Determine and communicate the appropriate accounting treatment for various scenarios.
• Develop realistic accounting tasks and scenarios based on practical, day-to-day professional experience.
• Apply knowledge across areas such as financial statements, month-end close, reconciliations, GAAP/IFRS, audit, tax, controls, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
• Follow detailed project instructions while providing precise, well-reasoned written feedback.
