Distinguished Programs, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant with deep expertise in Workday Financials to join our Accounting & Finance team in New York City. This role focuses on core accounting activities, budgeting support, forecasting, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities include month-end close, GL analysis, and collaboration with department leaders to drive budgeting and spending insights while optimizing Workday functionality and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, modeling).
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Lead the month-end close process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Maintain and analyze the general ledger and financial statements.
• Support audit activities by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to inquiries.
• Support the annual budgeting process, including data collection, validation, and consolidation.
• Partner with department leaders to guide budget development and review spending trends.
• Prepare variance analyses and assist with periodic forecasting updates.
• Utilize Workday reporting and planning tools to improve budgeting accuracy and visibility.
• Serve as the Finance team’s subject matter expert for Workday.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Workday modules.
• Train team members on Workday functionality and best practices.
