The ideal candidate has 5+ years in tax/CAS at a public firm, a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, and a CPA preferred. You will lead and mentor staff while collaborating with auditors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in tax and client accounting services at a public accounting firm.

• Proficiency with tax software and 1120S, income tax, and GL.
• Strong federal and state tax code knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and nonprofits.
• Assist clients with tax planning, compliance, financial statement prep, and GL maintenance.
• Review financial statements for GAAP compliance.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Research tax laws and advise clients and internal teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant specializing in Tax and Client Accounting Services (CAS) to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to provide high-level accounting and tax services to a diverse range of clients. The successful candidate will play a vital role in our Accounting and Finance department, contributing to the overall financial strategy and operations within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trusts, and non-profit) in accordance with federal and state laws.
• Assisting clients with various accounting and tax-related issues, including tax planning and compliance, financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and financial analysis.
• Reviewing and preparing financial statements, ensuring they comply with GAAP.
• Managing and maintaining the general ledger, including month-end and year-end close processes.
• Conducting research on tax laws and regulations to provide guidance to clients and the internal team.
• Collaborating with other department teams to streamline and improve internal processes.
• Providing leadership, training, and mentoring to junior staff.
• Liaising with external auditors and managing tax audits.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm, specifically in tax and client accounting services.

• Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes, and the ability to apply this knowledge to client needs.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
