Job summary

SoftWriters, a Pittsburgh-based technology company serving long-term care pharmacies, is seeking a Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations & Systems to help modernize finance systems and processes.

In this hybrid role, you will lead ERP upgrade projects, test plans, data validation, and internal controls, while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate month-end close. Collaborate with IT, FP&A, vendors, and auditors as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a growing environment.
• Experience implementing and testing new accounting/ERP or billing systems.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle month-end close.
• Ability to modernize, automate, and document accounting workflows.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).

Responsibilities

• Upgrade and implement the accounting system (ERP), billing tools, and reporting.
• Gather requirements, configure systems, and perform fit-gap analysis.
• Design and execute test plans; document results and validate fixes.
• Validate data conversions and reconcile balances across migrations.
• Train team on updated workflows and processes.
• Own month-end and year-end close tasks and reconciliations.
• Support AR/AP processes and maintain audit-ready documentation.
