Job summary

SimplePractice, LLC is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its growing Finance team. You will own core accounting processes, advise on transactions, and ensure accurate financial reporting as the company scales.

You will partner with Finance, People, Legal, Product, and Engineering to document accounting treatments, maintain controls, and support internal and external reporting. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex topics.
• Experience with internal controls, including design and execution.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional partners.
• Proven ability to deliver on challenging projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Research and document technical accounting positions for new pronouncements and initiatives.
• Draft and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide variance explanations to stakeholders.
• Support design, implementation, and execution of internal control procedures.
• Help build scalable accounting processes to support company growth, including automation opportunities.
• Partner with Product, Systems, Treasury, Tax, People, and Legal on financial systems/process improvements.
• Support external audit requests with schedules and analysis.
