Job summary

7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant for Reporting and Analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting through close and comprehensive margin analysis.

The role focuses on month-end processes, reconciliations, and detailed profitability assessments across products and locations. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of accounting experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience performing financial statement and gross profit analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and complex formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar financial systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding differences.
• Perform detailed gross profit analysis, including variance analysis by merchandise category, vendor, and location.
• Analyze sales, inventory, cost of sales, markdowns, shrink, and other factors impacting gross margin performance.
• Prepare monthly management financial reports and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements.
• Participate in system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
• Ad-hoc duties as needed
