Job summary

BenchPrep is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant for a remote role reporting to the Controller. You will maintain records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance within GAAP guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information across teams. You’ll support budgeting, audits, and process improvements while enjoying competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments; report accordingly.
• Ensure transactions follow GAAP and company policies.
• Review revenue recognition related transactions and GL postings.
• Assist in building financial statements and budgets; perform variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns; assist with audits and process improvements.
