Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking an experienced accountant to perform general and advanced accounting duties within the Financial Operations Center. The role supports journal documentation and reporting, with potential for remote work.

You will analyze financial data, prepare statements, monitor expenditures, and coordinate billings and cost reports for diverse funding sources while collaborating with auditors and university leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control practices.
• Ability to navigate standard technology platforms (word processing, data entry, email, internet).
• Familiarity with audit practices and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data and statements.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced, multifaceted accounting functions including ledger maintenance, cost and financial analysis, fund reconciliation, posting, and inventory control.
• Analyzes complex financial data and prepares management reports and financial statements.
• Monitors revenue and expenses for unit accounts and ensures expenditure control and compliance.
• Coordinates preparation of billings, cost reports, analyses, inventories, and preliminary financial statements for various funding sources.
• Coordinates journal vouchers and adjustments identified by Finance Divisions.
• Oversees input and handling of financial data reports and balances accounting records.
• Maintains system-wide chart of accounts and conducts bank reconciliations.
