Job summary

ZestyAI is seeking a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR, billing, cash, and month-end close. This hands-on role covers the general ledger—from invoicing to journal entries—with close collaboration with the Controller and cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.

You will embrace AI/automation to streamline workflows, ensure audit-ready books, and drive process improvements as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally spanning AP, AR, billing, and general ledger.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
• Hands-on experience with cloud accounting systems and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• Experience with Ramp is a plus.
• Able to thrive in a remote-first, fast-paced environment with AI/automation focus.

Responsibilities

• Own AP cycle: process and code vendor invoices, verify approvals, and prepare payment runs.
• Manage AR cycle end-to-end: invoicing, collections, cash application, and follow-up.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices in line with contracts; resolve discrepancies.
• Perform daily/monthly bank and cash reconciliations; investigate variances.
• Review employee expense reports and administer corporate card program.
• Assist with monthly close: journal entries, accruals, and schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations; clear reconciling items.
• Assist with annual audits: schedules, docs, and auditor requests.
• Help maintain accounting policies, controls, and process docs.
• Look for ways to automate workflows using AI/tools.
