Job summary

HireHawk Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote role in the United States. You will lead day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support month-end close under the Finance Director.

Ideal for those familiar with e-commerce or retail finance, bringing structure to high-volume activity. You will identify issues, propose improvements, and contribute to broader financial projects beyond routine accounting.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, or financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience supporting e-commerce or retail businesses (Shopify/Amazon).
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, or a comparable accounting software.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets for organizing, reconciling, and analyzing complex data.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Clear written and verbal English communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own accurate financial data entry, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for recurring reporting cycles.
• Support a timely and well-controlled month-end close process.
• Maintain complete financial records and documentation ready for review or audit.
• Manage or support accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, ensuring timely processing.
• Reconcile financial activity across e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon) and accounting systems.
• Assist with tax filings, regulatory compliance, audits, and documentation requests.
• Partner with the Finance Director to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and strategic initiatives.

About the Role

As Senior Accountant, you will help lead day-to-day accounting operations while strengthening financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and month-end close processes. You will work closely with the Finance Director to improve workflows, maintain dependable financial records, and provide insights that support broader business decisions.

Must-Have:

• At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, or financial analysis
• Hands-on experience supporting e-commerce or retail businesses, including platforms such as Shopify or Amazon
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or a comparable platform
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including the ability to organize, reconcile, and analyze complex financial data
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, financial documentation, and month-end accounting processes
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines accuratelyClear written and verbal English communication skills for effective remote collaboration
