We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a remote (1 day a week in Columbia, MD office), full-time permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals in the Accounting and Finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting operations, including month-end close, GAAP, and FASB. This role requires a high level of expertise, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities such as accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing, customer credits and collections, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
• Coordinate and ensure timely month-end and year-end closes.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and regulations, maintaining records in accordance with GAAP and FASB.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with external auditors for audits and compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control procedures.
• Identify operational improvements and propose policy, procedure, or process changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s or CPA preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in senior accounting or financial management roles.
• Experience with month-end close, GAAP, and FASB.
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High integrity, professionalism, and work ethic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently remotely, manage large data sets, and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proactive thinking.
