Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists is seeking a Senior Accountant in Austin, TX to maintain QuickBooks general ledgers, payroll, and tax filings, and to prepare information for the CPA preparing returns for the Firm's entities and individuals.

The role includes assembling tax information, performing bank reconciliations, managing A/R and A/P, and producing timely financial reports, with office-management coverage during vacations or illnesses as needed.

Qualifications

• Good accounting and bookkeeping knowledge covering check processing, A/R, A/P, and financial reporting.
• 5-10 years of relevant accounting and tax experience, ideally with a tax CPA firm.
• Experience assembling income tax information for individuals, trusts, and entities and coordinating with CPA to ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QuickBooks general ledgers and payroll; prepare and file payroll tax reports.
• Assemble and organize information for CPA for income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and entities; review preliminary returns for ledger consistency.
• Handle accounts payable, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Provide support during office management tasks and assist the Nelson family and related entities with bookkeeping and bill payments.
• Update financial documents and support files; assist Office/General Manager as needed.
