Job summary

Washington Health is seeking a Senior Accountant to support payroll operations and oversee accounts payable, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The role emphasizes accurate payroll processing, vendor management, and compliance with GAAP.

You will contribute to financial reporting, assist audits, mentor staff, and collaborate with HR and other departments to improve workflows and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with payroll and AP.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
• Supervise and perform accounts payable operations, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Prepare and analyze payroll and AP-related financial reports; reconcile GL accounts.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements; assist audits.
• Train and mentor staff; collaborate with HR, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve workflows.
