Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be part of the Operations team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. They will work closely with management to provide timely and accurate financial information to the company's leadership. This role involves maintaining records of financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with the company's guidelines and operating procedures. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for preparing financial reports, assisting with compliance matters, and providing support to other team members as needed.

  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, reconcile with the general ledger.
  • Download accounting transactions for integration with multiple systems for accounting and reconciliation, including but not limited to vendor invoices, credit card transactions, bank deposits, and intercompany transactions.
  • Understand the relationship of each tech application with the others, becoming proficient in troubleshooting connection issues.
  • Provide support to other team members when needed.
  • Invoicing and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist with compliance and provide necessary documentation and support.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Sage Intacct, including dashboards, custom reports and Concur is a must.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Paylocity is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Normal work hours are 8:30 am through 5:30 pm Monday through Friday EST (for local staff)
  • Location: Negotiable - remote or in-office (Washington, D.C.).

* If in-office; Hybrid work schedule - 3 days in the office as determined by supervisor and/or practice

*Flexible work arrangements available for remote hires in other time zones

  • Salary consideration will be commensurate with experience: Base salary range is $42,500-$47,500 plus bonus eligibility after first year.
