Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Kent, OH. The role supports month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, fixed asset and real estate accounting, and financial reporting.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least five years of relevant experience, with strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge. This onsite role collaborates across departments and maintains strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; able to analyze data.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Track fixed assets and real estate accounting, including CIP and capitalization.
• Record and reconcile journal entries, accruals, and closing schedules in GAAP.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, analyses, and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile GL and balance sheet accounts; investigate discrepancies.
• Support fixed asset and real estate reporting and audits as needed.
