Carter Lumber Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Kent, Ohio. This role supports month-end close, general ledger accounting, asset capitalization, and financial reporting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, general ledger, fixed asset accounting, and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Track real estate construction projects from start to finish, including coding invoices and capitalization.
• Capitalize and maintain fixed assets for acquisitions, disposals and transfers per GAAP.
• Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, including CIP.
• Record real estate transactions, including acquisitions, purchases, sales, and related capitalizations.
• Prepare and reconcile capital expenditure reports used in monthly reporting and budgeting.
• Prepare, maintain, and reconcile journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end close and assist with consolidated financial reporting.
