Carter Lumber seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Kent, OH. The role supports month‑end close, general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets and real estate accounting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities include tracking real estate projects, capital asset management, journal entries, and monthly close processes. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organization, confidentiality, and time‑management abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Track fixed assets and real estate accounting, including capitalization and depreciation.
• Record and reconcile real estate transactions and capital expenditures.
• Prepare journal entries and schedules for month‑end close.
• Reconcile GL and balance sheet accounts; investigate discrepancies.
• Support consolidated financial reporting and management analyses.
• Assist with audits by providing schedules and documentation.
