Job summary

Our House GA, a Georgia-based nonprofit in Atlanta, seeks a Senior Accountant to own the general ledger, lead monthly and year-end closes, and manage federal grant compliance within a small finance team.

You will prepare financial statements for the CFO, oversee audit processes (including the Single Audit and Form 990), ensure revenue recognition and donor restrictions, and review journal entries with attention to internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with financial statements and audits.
• GAAP and ASC 958 nonprofit knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot, Lookups, reconciliations).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close and deliver books to the CFO on schedule.
• Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and cash flow projections.
• Determine revenue recognition and donor restrictions for new funder agreements; set billing and reporting requirements.
• Ensure grant spending meets federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and funder requirements.
• Lead the annual financial audit and Single Audit, and coordinate Form 990 preparation.
• Review and approve the Accountant's journal entries, grant reconciliations, and receivables before close.
• Maintain internal controls and document accounting procedures for a small finance team.
