Job summary

HR Symphony is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to manage the monthly and year-end close, guarantee GAAP compliance, and oversee nonprofit financial reporting. The role supports grant accounting and budget analyses while preparing for audits and maintaining internal controls.

Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge is preferred; Hawaiian language fluency is encouraged. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (MBA/CPA preferred), 5–7 years of nonprofit accounting, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or related field
• 5–7 years of non-profit accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Ability to meet compliance and best-practice standards in finance
• Experience with grant/restricted-fund accounting and audits
• Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge software preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google platforms
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision; team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and year-end accounting close processes and GL reconciliations
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure revenues/expenses are recorded in accordance with GAAP
• Support grant and restricted-fund accounting and track expenditures by grant/program
• Prepare schedules for annual audit, Single Audit, and external reviews
• Develop, document, and monitor fiscal procedures and internal controls under Luna Waiwai
• Assist with annual budget preparation and budget-to-actual analyses
• Support Luna Waiwai with financial analysis and special projects
