Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance, headquartered in Massachusetts, seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Senior Services division across multiple communities. You will manage financial reporting, reconciliations, billing, HUD requirements, and audits, partnering with administrators to strengthen controls.

The role requires a bachelor's in accounting/finance, 5+ years' experience in nonprofit or healthcare accounting, GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel. CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Close month-end and year-end activities.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile ledgers and accounts.
• Review results and investigate variances.
• Support consolidated reporting across entities and locations.
• Manage HUD-assisted housing program accounting and reporting.
• Review resident billing and subsidy calculations for accuracy.
• Prepare audits and supporting schedules for financial and regulatory audits.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with leaders to improve processes and internal controls.
• Assist with system enhancements and special projects.
