Job summary

Blue Grace Logistics is seeking a Senior Accountant to own complex monthly journal entries, manage high-risk GL accounts, and support the monthly close across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This experienced contributor will strengthen internal controls and GAAP compliance in a PE-backed, high-growth freight brokerage and asset-light 3PL environment.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare consolidated schedules, and mentor staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems; Certinia (FinancialForce) or Salesforce-based systems a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency using AI tools a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven close environment with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting financial information to leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute complex monthly journal entries across assigned functional areas ensuring proper GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for high-risk or high-volume GL accounts, identifying root causes of variances and driving timely resolution.
• Prepare consolidated financial statement schedules and supporting workpapers.
• Assist with multi-entity accounting across U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
• Serve as a liaison for internal and external audit requests, coordinating audit schedules and responses to inquiries.
• Mentor and review the work of Staff Accountants, providing feedback and supporting professional development.
• Respond to inquiries from operations and management regarding GL activity.
