Job summary

Pavion is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our shared services team in Chantilly, VA. You will own multi‑entity close processes, manage P&L and balance sheet activities, and partner with functional leaders to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on ownership of multiple accounting disciplines. Strong ERP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience across multiple disciplines.
• Experience closing books for multiple entities/sites/business units.

Responsibilities

• Key contributor to the monthly general ledger close and reporting process with a 5‑day close goal (4 days).
• Handle P&L and Balance Sheet accounting across multiple areas including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, payroll, intercompany, cash/bank reconciliations, AP/AR subledgers.
• Research and resolve variances for monthly fluctuation analysis.
• Own end-to-end close activities across multiple disciplines and prioritize shifts.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury, FP&A and site finance leads to resolve issues at the source.
• Align with Shared Service Accounting policies and best practices.
• Prepare business process documentation for core activities.
• Onboard newly acquired entities into shared services, including COA mapping and balance validation.
