Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee month-end close, maintain the general ledger for multiple entities, and deliver accurate financial reporting. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced, onsite Delaware office.

Candidate should have GAAP knowledge, strong Excel skills, and experience with multi-entity accounting, with CPA or MBA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements.
• Knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Experience in financial services, lending, collections, or dealership environments preferred.
• CPA or MBA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of general ledger activity across multiple business entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership review and business decision-making.
• Account for balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Ensure accounting procedures, reporting practices, and internal controls align with GAAP standards.
• Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries supporting accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze operating results, trends, cash flow, and business performance across multiple entities.
• Support budgeting cycles, forecasting activities, and variance reporting.
• Manage accounting activities and reporting requirements across dealership, finance, and collections business lines.
