Job summary

Aston Carter seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee month-end and year-end close, maintain the general ledger across multiple entities, and produce accurate financial reports. You will partner with operational leadership to ensure GAAP compliance, inventory, financing, and cash reporting, while supporting audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and internal controls.
• CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of general ledger activity across multiple business entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership review and business decision-making.
• Account for balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Ensure accounting procedures, reporting practices, and internal controls align with GAAP standards.
• Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries supporting accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze operating results, trends, cash flow, and business performance across multiple entities.
• Support budgeting cycles, forecasting activities, and variance reporting.
• Manage accounting activities and reporting requirements across dealership, finance, and collections business lines.
