Job summary

PLS Logistics Service, located in Chicago, seeks a Senior Accountant to support Line of Business accounting operations. You will manage general ledger, month-end close, and profitability analysis, while guiding staff through close tasks.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and effective communication with cross-functional partners. In-person collaboration at the Chicago Support Center is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and large data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with proper documentation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and post-close schedules; investigate discrepancies.
• Review monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end audit schedules and respond to audit requests with complete information.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules, ensuring policy compliance.
• Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system initiatives.
