Job summary

Ryan Specialty is seeking a Senior Accountant in Chicago hybrid to support period-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting under US GAAP. You will partner with cross-functional teams and contribute to SEC footnotes and audits.

The role requires a Licensed CPA, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 3+ years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills. Workday experience is preferred and the position is based in our downtown Chicago office with hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensed CPA or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with complex transactions.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Workday and ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed account reconciliations for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Perform period-end close activities, including variance analyses and explanations.
• Prepare support for footnotes and SEC filings.
• Assist with internal and external audits for domestic and international entities.
• Work with large data sets across multiple source systems to validate, reconcile and analyze financial information.
• Identify and implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
