Job summary

The Stone Group of Companies in Spokane, WA is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the finance team with the monthly close, reporting, and auditing needs. The role partners across levels of the organization to monitor and analyze financial performance and to optimize reporting workflows.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting, 3 years of corporate accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP and report writer tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 3 years of corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with enterprise accounting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics GP and report writer tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the month-end close process.
• Maintain and reconcile selected balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP.
• Monthly P&L analysis including trend and variance analysis.
• Assist in the development of monthly production reports and analysis.
• Develop and generate ad-hoc reports to monitor financial performance.
• Assist with external audits and other year-end reporting requirements.
• Assist in the implementation of controls, policies and procedures to support growth and expansion.
• Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to staff and peers regarding GAAP standards.
