Job summary

Great Northern, a leader in packaging and distribution, seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Controller in GAAP-based practices. The role requires a four-year accounting degree, three years in manufacturing, and strong skills in cost and transactional accounting.

You will prepare financial statements, manage inventories, and communicate with internal and external customers while upholding company standards and confidentiality. Growth opportunities exist locally and nationally.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough understanding of sales tax, transactional accounting, cost accounting, inventories.
• Ability to utilize computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller in senior level accounting practices in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements accurately and on time.
• Manage sales tax, transactional accounting, cost accounting and inventories.
• Operate and maintain computerized accounting systems; exercise good business judgment.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
