Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Supply Chain is seeking a Senior Accountant in Claremont, NC to own month end close, drive operational reporting, and oversee accounts payable processes. You will partner with Operations, Purchasing, Shared Services AP, and Receiving to ensure accurate financial results and timely reporting.

The role emphasizes variance analysis, journal entries, inventory accounting review, and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience including month end close, journal entries, variance analysis, reconciliations, and operational reporting.
• Experience with accounts payable processes, invoice workflows, vendor issue resolution, and cross-functional oversight.
• Proficient in MS Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions.
• Prior experience with Oracle, Microsoft D365, or similar ERP system preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial data, research variances, prepare commentary, and make sound recommendations.
• Strong problem-solving, urgency, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and guide others in accounting and AP processes.

Responsibilities

• Own month end close responsibilities including journal entries, variance analysis, and close documentation.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, coding accuracy, approvals, and payment follow-up.
• Produce weekly operational and financial reports for plant leadership and executive management.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and commentary to support business decisions.
• Support inventory accounting including activity review, adjustments, and related journals.
• Review inventory adjustments and coordinate with Operations/Receiving/Purchasing to ensure accuracy.
• Support special projects such as process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system changes.
