Job summary

Williams-Sonoma is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead inventory accounting for a segment of the business. You will own all inventory accounting and collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the Finance department.

Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations for AP, inventory, and receivables, and developing controls to ensure accuracy. Strong communication and GAAP knowledge are required, with 3–5 years of accounting and 2 years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (4‑year degree).
• CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years accounting experience preferred.
• 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communicator and ability to work with remote teams and drive effective conversations.
• Strong technical/systems skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Month end accounting close journal entries and month end close processes.
• Reconciliation of accounts payable and RNI/INR.
• Monthly reconciliations of inventory, receivable, and liability accounts including supporting documentation.
• Monitor physical inventory according to financial standards and determine process controls to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure proper accounting controls are in place; liaise with internal and external audit.
• Participate in system upgrades as needed.
• Establish partnerships with Accounting/Finance Teams and outside teams to understand transaction flows and audit requirements.
• Partner with Finance team to explain monthly variances.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Special projects as assigned.
