Job summary

Standex International is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Michigan and South Carolina business units with month-end close, inventory and cost accounting, and tax compliance. You will partner with site leadership to ensure accurate financial results and strong controls across manufacturing operations.

You’ll work with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to maintain BOMs and standard costs, perform cost analyses, and support budgets and audits. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably manufacturing.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing inventory, including BOMs, cycle counts, inventories, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
• ERP systems experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) preferred; Epicor experience a plus.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure timely processing of Accounts Receivable and RMAs.
• Coordinate Capital Expenditure and Lease Expenditure Requests.
• Own and support month-end close activities across the division.
• Maintain inventory accounting and controls at assigned site, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to maintain BOMs, routings, standard costs, and other data affecting costing.
• Perform cost accounting analysis for accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and profitability reporting.
• Support sales and use tax compliance and related filings.
• Develop and maintain operational and financial reporting for both locations.
• Identify variances, trends, risks, and process improvements with site leadership.
• Work with Corporate Accounting and Shared Services on transactional accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting and budgets.
• Support audits and internal controls; ensure adherence to policies.
• Travel occasionally.
