Job summary

Standex International is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the division’s Michigan and South Carolina locations. You will lead month-end close, inventory control, cost accounting, and financial reporting while partnering with site leadership to drive accuracy and strong internal controls.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to maintain BOMs, standard costs, and manufacturing data, performing variance analysis and tax compliance support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience with manufacturing background preferred.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing inventory, BOMs, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance and related reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Experience with OneStream, LeaseQuery and BNA Fixed Asset software is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Receivable processing and RMAs timelines.
• Coordinate CER and LER processes.
• Own month-end close activities across the division including journals and reconciliations.
• Inventory accounting ownership including cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Maintain BOMs, routings, standard costs, and manufacturing data for inventory costing.
• Perform cost accounting analysis for product costing and variances.
• Support sales and use tax compliance filings and reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain operational and financial reports for two business units.
• Collaborate with Controllers and site leadership to identify variances and process improvements.
• Support transactional accounting with Corporate Accounting and Shared Services.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting and forecasts.
• Support audits and adherence to US GAAP and internal controls.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes and inventory controls.
• Travel occasionally to other location for cross-site coverage.
