Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established West Michigan manufacturing company in Holland, MI on-site. The role focuses on financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost analysis, and cross-functional partnership with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years in manufacturing accounting; strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Exposure to cost accounting, standard costing, or manufacturing variance analysis is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and provide actionable financial insights.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Desire to learn and develop deeper expertise in cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Assist with inventory accounting and inventory valuation processes.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and identify key business drivers.
• Support standard costing activities and annual cost roll processes.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to better understand manufacturing performance and cost trends.
• Assist with product costing, margin analysis, and profitability reporting.
• Review and analyze labor, material, scrap, and overhead variances.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating planning processes.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help drive efficiency initiatives.
• Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with leadership on special projects and ad hoc analysis
