Job summary

Gogo Business Aviation LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to own full-lifecycle lease accounting and manage related fixed assets and ARO. The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, SOX controls experience, and hands-on experience with leases in a public company environment.

Expect close collaboration with tax and internal/external auditors. The ideal candidate holds a accounting degree (or finance) with 4–6+ years of relevant experience, CPA is a plus, and proficiency in Excel and ERP/lease

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance; 4–6+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal control frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with lease, fixed asset, and/or ARO accounting in a publicly traded or SOX-controlled environment a plus.
• CPA license or CPA candidate status is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong organizational, problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems; Business Central is a plus; experience with lease software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-lifecycle lease accounting and manage the lease management system.
• Prepare lease disclosure schedules for quarterly financials.
• Manage fixed asset lifecycle including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment, and disposals.
• Review CAPEX requests for proper classification and policy compliance.
• Lead annual asset counts and impairment testing when events trigger.
• Maintain ARO liability and asset retirement cost schedules.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries for leases, fixed assets, and ARO.
• Support monthly/year-end close and provide ad hoc reporting.
