Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments to ensure proper lease accounting.
• Reconcile and initiate lease payments with AP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain lease data within LeaseQuery and related systems.
• Review lease agreements for correct accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting journal entries and schedules.
• Reconcile lease-related balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze lease fluctuations and explain impacts for reporting.
• Assist monthly branch count determinations based on licensing/locations.
• Assist in quarterly and annual lease footnote disclosures.
• Ensure internal control compliance and policy adherence.
• Interact with external auditors regarding quarterly lease schedules.

We are in search for a Senior Accountant - Lease and ESG Reporting for our growing national client. This is a full-time hybrid position. The role is responsible for supporting the Company's lease accounting program in compliance with ASC 842 and assisting with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting initiatives. Responsibilities:

Lease Accounting

• Collaborate and consult with various departments to ensure proper lease accounting.


• Work closely with the AP team to reconcile and initiate lease payments, ensuring they are processed completely, accurately and timely.


• Maintain and administer lease data within LeaseQuery.


• Review and abstract lease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment.


• Prepare monthly lease accounting journal entries and supporting schedules.


• Reconcile lease-related balance sheet accounts.


• Analyze lease-related fluctuations and provide explanations for financial reporting.


• Assist with the monthly determination of branch count based on licensing and locations.


• Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual lease footnote disclosures.


• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and accounting policies.


• Interact with external auditors regarding quarterly lease schedules and in maintaining effective internal controls.

ESG Data Collection and Reporting

• Assist in the collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data across business functions.


• Maintain documentation of processes and procedures around data collection, verification and audit.


• Perform large-scale data management and environmental performance data analysis, with specific detail to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.


• Assist with the identification, and implementation of internal controls related to ESG reporting.


• Gather and analyze metrics related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy consumption, water usage, waste and recycling metrics, and employee diversity and workforce demographics.


• Perform data quality reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of ESG information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.


• 3+ years related experience.


• Previous experience with ASC 842 leases, including lease administrative database systems.


• Experience using LeaseQuery, Blackline, Oracle, and Smart View is a plus.


• Advanced Excel skills.


• Demonstrated experience in providing data analytics and data quality verification and management.


• Detail Oriented with a strong focus on checking data for small errors.


• Experience working in multi-functional teams.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
