Job summary

PeopleAK is seeking a Senior Accountant Lead in Alaska to oversee the general ledger, financial reporting, and multi-entity accounting for the corporation, its subsidiaries, and the settlement trust.

The role reports to the CFO and may supervise staff; responsibilities include month-end close, intercompany transactions, payroll, and audits, with a strong focus on internal controls and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
• 4 to 7 years of progressive professional accounting experience preferred.
• CMA, CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP with demonstrated experience analyzing business transactions.
• Excellent analytical and forecasting skills with problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, financial reporting and multi-entity accounting for the corporation and subsidiaries.
• Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities.
• Manage intercompany transactions, consolidations and multi-entity accounting.
• Oversee daily accounting operations for AP, AR, intercompany and credit cards.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and intercompany journal entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, budgets).
• Process semi-monthly payroll and benefit payments and related journal entries.
• Maintain fixed asset schedule and depreciation.
• Assist in annual audits and tax preparation.
• Support budgets/forecasts and management reporting.
• Support SBA and government reporting and other audits.
