Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Senior Accountant in Charlotte, NC to own the general ledger and monthly close for a growing accounting function. You will prepare journal entries, manage reconciliations, and support an ERP implementation, ensuring strong controls and policy compliance.

You will work directly with the Controller, handle AP/payroll, and contribute to financial reporting under US GAAP, with IFRS support as needed. This contract role offers 9–5 hours in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting with month-end close ownership.
• US GAAP knowledge, full accounting cycle, financial statement prep.
• Experience creating complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• ERP/accounting platform experience with processing and reporting.
• Full-cycle accounts payable including vendor onboarding, invoicing, payments.
• Advanced Excel with large data sets, lookups, pivots.
• Attention to detail, ownership, and meticulous documentation.
• Clear written and verbal communication; explain accounting to non‑accountants.
• Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, drives process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor invoices, coding, approvals, and payments; maintain vendor data.
• Enforce expense policies and thresholds; follow up on exceptions.
• Reconcile corporate card and employee expenses; ensure proper period recognition.
• Record/payroll and benefits with payroll provider coordination.
• Support 1099 and W‑9 compliance and year-end reporting.
• Prepare monthly schedules for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Assist Controller with GAAP financial statements and IFRS reporting support.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers and respond to external auditors.
• Develop and maintain GL, AP, expense, and reconciliation procedures.
