Job summary

Independent Health in Buffalo, NY seeks a Senior Accountant to prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, tax schedules and audit packets, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate general ledger entries.

You will support Workday reporting, mentor staff accountants, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new products and strategic initiatives; a strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential. Base salary range is $85,000–$95,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Four years of accounting experience; CPA preferred.
• Working knowledge of general ledger systems and MS Office.
• Detail-oriented documentation of complex processes.
• Analytical skills to prepare and analyze business plans and technical designs.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries with documentation.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for audit.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements using GAAP and SAP methods.
• Review accounts payable invoices for accurate GL coding.
• Develop and review financial summary reports for management.
• Provide analytical summaries of financial statements and variance analyses.
• Assist in training of staff on Workday and related processes.
