Job summary

Independent Health is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the monthly and annual financial statement preparation and review, including tax schedules and audit support. The role emphasizes accuracy, GAAP compliance, and collaboration with management across departments.

You will utilize Workday general ledger and related finance systems, prepare monthly packets, and help train the team on financial reporting tools while driving process improvements and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Four years of accounting experience required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• General ledger systems and spreadsheet experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio and Project Planning software preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong documentation and workflow skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work independently.
• Analytical skills to support business and technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries with proper documentation.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for audit and management.
• Perform analytical procedures and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements using GAAP and SAP methods.
• Review AP invoices for accurate GL coding.
• Maintain departmental financial spreadsheets and controls.
• Lend support to management to ensure data classification and compliance with policies.
• Develop and review financial summary reports for management using Workday report tools.
• Assist in researching accounting pronouncements and their operational impact.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure timely month-end close and reporting.
