Job summary

Leeds Professional Resources is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team on a contract basis in Boca Raton, FL. The role requires strong accounting expertise, accurate financial reporting, and the ability to manage payroll and month-end close processes.

You will collaborate with auditors, ensure compliance, protect confidential information, and mentor junior accountants while maintaining rigorous internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar major.
• At least 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.
• Manages the payroll process.
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Trains and manages accountants.
