Riverhead Building Supply is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead general ledger analysis, bank reconciliations, and monthly workpapers while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The role supports financial statements preparation and commission reporting within a collaborative accounting team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, strong Excel skills, and CPA is preferred. Public accounting exposure and ERP/QuickBooks experience are a plus in a dynamic multi-state building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP/CSD systems and QuickBooks is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account analysis and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Take ownership of monthly workpapers and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare commission calculations and related reports.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the accounting team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
• Apply strong analytical skills and close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively establish checks and balances to identify discrepancies and maintain the integrity of financial information.
