Job summary

Riverhead Building Supply Corp, a leading building supplies company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform GL analyses, prepare financial statements, and own monthly workpapers. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting and strong Excel skills, with CPA preferred and public accounting experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and QuickBooks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account analysis and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Take ownership of monthly workpapers and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare commission calculations and related reports.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the accounting team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
• Apply strong analytical skills and close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively establish checks and balances to identify discrepancies and maintain the integrity of financial information.
