Job summary

BuyWander is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to build and maintain a scalable accounting function. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for significant portions of the monthly close process, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, transaction analysis, journal entries, and financial reporting.

This role will work closely with the Controller and other business leaders to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of BuyWander’s financial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with full monthly close.
• Journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Inventory accounting experience (costing, valuation, shrinkage, COGS).
• Advanced Excel and data analysis.
• Experience with accounting systems; ability to learn custom systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with finance and non-finance teams.
• Hands-on ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support inventory accounting across locations.
• Reconcile inventory activity with operational systems.
• Analyze high-volume transaction data across auction activity and payment processors.
• Record journal entries for GL activities.
• Assist revenue recognition for auction and marketplace.
• Assist payroll accounting and payroll accruals.
• Support AP/AR and general accounting processes.
• Assist in audit preparation and provide schedules.
