Job summary

Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Senior Accountant/Senior Accounting Specialist for the Accounting Department at our Buffalo location. This full-time role will oversee monthly close, grant accounting, and internal controls while supporting audits and budgeting.

Salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually, with potential for growth within a mission-driven, globally connected health center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least three years of accounting experience required.
• Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with auditors and funding agencies.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances for accuracy.
• Monitor grant agreements, funding requirements, and restricted fund accounting.
• Prepare grant-related financial activity, reporting, and recoveries.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and work papers.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
