Job summary

The Accountant III role at Pascua Yaqui Tribe applies GAAP knowledge to government accounting, auditing, budgeting, accruals, and financial reporting. This position reviews complex grants, analyzes budgets, and prepares periodic reports under the Accounting Manager's guidance.

You will be a primary resource for other accountants, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries for federal and state activities, and supporting the annual audit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with five years of government accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with audits and grants management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and reconcile complex accounts to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and review journal entries involving grants, accruals, fixed assets, and bank activity.
• Perform GL reconciliations including bank reconciliations and budget analyses.
• Create financial reports for assigned departments and support audits.
• Provide customer service and guidance to staff on accounting procedures.
• Assist with year-end closing and the annual audit as needed.
