The Kiowa Tribe Finance Department is hiring a Staff Accountant to maintain accurate and timely financial records, manage journal entries, month-end close, and grant accounting. You will help strengthen internal controls while collaborating across departments to meet deadlines.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, and strong Excel skills. Office-based in Carnegie, OK with potential for grant-funded reporting and audits.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.

Mansioni

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card and general ledger accounts.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, meeting all deadlines.
• Track grant revenue and expenditures, and prepare grant drawdowns and financial reports for federal, state and other funders.
• Review accounts payable, payroll and purchasing transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
• Monitor and enforce internal controls, including segregation of duties over cash, banking and credit cards.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for the annual audit, including the Single Audit.
• Assist with budget preparation and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Respond promptly to requests from finance leadership, program managers and auditors.
• Train and support other accounting staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
