Job summary

MEPUSA, a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., seeks a Senior Accountant to support technical accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic accounting initiatives. The role collaborates with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and timely close in a fast-paced energy environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, with 3–5 years of relevant experience and CPA progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four firm.
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred, upstream experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with SOX control frameworks and internal controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and apply IFRS accounting guidance to complex transactions and reporting matters.
• Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of memoranda and analyses.
• Support evaluations on acquisitions/divestitures, ARO, impairment, leases, revenue recognition, and hedge accounting.
• Support external financial reporting including annual deliverables.
• Contribute to SOX control activities, documentation, testing support, and process improvements.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with system/process improvements.
