Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. in Kent, WA has an opening for a Senior Accountant I to lead accounts payable and payroll operations. You will ensure accurate postings, GAAP compliance, and timely reporting for a growing accounting function.

The role requires ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks Online Advanced proficiency, strong Excel skills, and comfort in a fast-paced construction environment. On-site three days per week with potential hybrid flexibility; competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience in accounts payable, payroll, or accounting operations; both payroll and accounting experience required.
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and payroll regulations.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting systems, and AI tools.
• On-site at Kent, WA headquarters at least three days per week; Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with proper coding to GL accounts, jobs, and cost codes.
• Administer payroll using ADP Workforce Now; review, validate, and audit payroll data.
• Maintain benefits records and reconcile with payroll deductions.
• Support month-end close with reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Prepare job costing and collaborate with sales/production teams.
• Assist with AP tool selection and implementation.
