Rewards Network in Chicago is hiring a Senior Accountant to manage financial records, close monthly and yearly books, and provide accurate information for strategic decisions.

The role requires a bachelor's in accounting and at least three years of accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills. This is a hybrid position with in-office presence three days a week (Tue-Thu) in downtown Chicago.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and strong GAAP knowledge.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Performing monthly and fiscal year-end close activities by performing timely and accurate journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, general ledgers, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Owns performing account and bank statement reconciliations. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of budgets, as well as forecasting future expenditures.
• Supporting a variety of external audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• May lead accounts payable process to ensure proper coding and receipt of all invoices.
• Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology and process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.
