Job summary

Withum's BEA team in Lincolnshire, IL is seeking a senior accountant for a hybrid role in our Lincolnshire office (3 days in office). You will analyze financial statements, assess risks, and identify cost-saving opportunities while guiding staff and coordinating with partners.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in accounting, CPA or progress, 3+ years at a CPA/tax firm, and strong communication and mentoring skills to service clients across tax, assurance, and advisory groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field.
• CPA license preferred, or working towards CPA certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or tax consulting practice; food & beverage industry experience is a plus.
• Experience handling a high volume of financial statements with tight deadlines.
• Strong technical accounting background and staying current on key law changes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication with ability to develop strong client relationships.
• Strong training and mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and providing recommendations on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization
• Identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and suggesting improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Providing guidance, training and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication with the engagement partner and manager
• Reviewing and conducting financial statements reviews and compilation
• Collaborating cross-functionally with our tax, assurance and accounting, and advisory groups to assist with opportunities to fully service the clients
• Remaining current on technical and industry developments and standards, while evaluating the potential impact on clients' business and financial position
